What is a collograph print? Collographs are created by cutting a design into a plate and then artistically inked. Ink pools in the carved areas creating dark marks, and the artist may choose highlights and shadows that may appear on the surface of the plate. While the design may be printed multiple times, due to the printing process each print is unique.

"Firehouse #5" is a rendition of the firehouse on the corner of Maxwell street in downtown Lexington, Ky. I loved the character of one of the oldest firehouses in Lexington and I wanted to capture that. Fun fact, with collographs you cannot always predict or control the textures of the plate. The "man" you see standing in the doorway was unintentional and shows up in every single print! We call him our fire ghost. Get yours today, matted to fit a 12x16 frame. Choose black, sepia, or paynes gray ink.

Due to the printing process your print may look slightly different than the photograph depicted on the website. Colors of the ink or mat may also vary depending on your viewing device. Prints are created in sets. When ordering, you will receive the next order in the set if applicable.
